Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose

Is high school football big in your town?

I’ve always been more of a baseball girl personally, but football’s a deal around here. Not Texas big, but still pretty big.

It makes me  think of the T.V. Series Friday Night Lights? While we’re not even close to Texas football, I like watching how our whole community comes together to support the team 🏈

I watched Friday Night Lights for the first time this past summer. I know I’m late to the game (pun intended), but what a great show! Strong themes mixed into an enjoyable storyline. And so many memorable moments.

Coach Taylor said, “Every man at some point in his life is gonna lose a battle. He’s gonna fight and he’s gonna lose. But what makes him a man is that in the midst of the battle, he does not lose himself.”

So much truth in those words. 

It’s so easy to lose ourselves in the busyness, pressures, and distractions all around us. But to stay true to yourself through it all is real strength. 

And that’s a truth that’s not easily defeated. 

So, check out a local football game and always remember - Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
