Hello, I’m Colleen Marie!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page! ♥
I’m a small-town girl who loves sweet potato fries and homemade ice cream. It’s hard to beat creamy vanilla in a toasted waffle bowl layered with warm golden caramel and two cherries on top—I mean, one cherry isn’t enough but three is a bit excessive, right?
Apart from eating way too much ice cream, I love writing stories and teaching in animal-assisted learning. I grew up with an incredible love for animals, which led me to a career as a life scientist and science educator. In 2018, I founded Spirit of Love, an animal-assisted learning and wellness program. Animals always weave their way into my stories, bringing an added dose of humor (and undeniable adorableness) to the story.
I’m a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and the Catholic Writer’s Guild (CWG) and write stories full of beautiful country settings, quirky small towns, memorable characters, and clean, heartwarming romance. I hope to always share Jesus’ love through my words, inspiring readers to find beauty and goodness in the adventures and surprises that greet us each day. Those unexpected adventures create the best memories!
And speaking of everyday adventures, I spend my days in the countryside of northern Maryland with my husband, three children, and crew of lovable animals—all of whom never fail to bring new adventures and laughter each and every day. They just make my heart smile.
When I’m not writing, you can find me teaching biology at a local university, enjoying family time and very competitive game nights (who knew Uno could be so debatable), or wrestling my Australian shepherd puppy to keep him out of trouble, which is often a losing battle. But, isn’t he the cutest?
Q&A
-
I began writing early in my childhood. I would cut photos from magazines and make story binders full of characters. I filled notebooks with stories and poems. I loved reading as a child and that led to the dream of writing my own stories.

First, I pray. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to do something that I love so much—writing stories! I want to share His love with my writing. Second, I celebrate with my family, which usually involves ice cream. And lastly, I add a charm to my charm bracelet. I received my Tara’s Diary bracelet when I signed my first contract and I add charms that remind me of special moments in my writing career or memories of my stories.

I have always loved the Autmn. The cool weather and changing colors of the leaves are the best.
But, I also find so much beauty and comfort in the winter. And who doesn’t like to snuggle with their pup by the fireplace?
Christmas is my favorite time of the year!

Thank you for being here! I hope you enjoy my stories and are reminded of how truly unique and special you are. And remember - it’s never too late to start living the life you’re meant to live :)

I have been a MD State Certified teacher since 2003. I specialize in secondary science and writing.
I am currently a Biology Professor at a local university and am a teacher for all ages through my animal-assisted learning and wellness programs.

I became a certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) through Path International in 2016. I love working in equine-assisted therapy and activities. I am so at home on the farm and around the horses. My love for equine-assisted therapy led to the founding of my own program in 2028 — and Teagan & Finn’s program in Teagan’s Treasure!

When I founded my animal-assisted program in 2018, I named it Spirit of Love. Spirit was the name of our founding horse and the rest is history. As I continued with my writing career, I wanted to stay focused on what matters most in my life—Jesus. He is the One Spirit that ties everything together. I hope the love of Jesus shines through in all that I do and in every word that I write.
